Wonderland 150th Philatelic Congress

July 4 2015 was the 150th anniversary of the first Wonderland Philatelic Congress.  To celebrate this event a series of four labels was produced together with two covers.  The stamps have no monetary postal value as mail from the Congress HQ is free within Wonderland.

The stamps were printed in sheets of 16.  There are also proof sheets which should be expertised by the world famous Wonderland expert Gerald King.

Some of the sheets were overprinted “MidPex 2015”.  This exhibition was held at Leamington Spa on 4 July 2015 in acknowledgement to the Wonderland Congress.  Again, proofs (expertised as before) exist.  At least one error of overprint is known on the proof sheet with only 2 stamps with a ghostly overprint and the rest of the sheet missed.  Expertising is again essential as Mr King expects this error to be worth a five figure sum (probably including pence) by 3015.

Envelopes were produced for the issue of invitations to the Congress.  Each envelope has two of the stamps and a special congress cancellation which is repeated on the reverse.
