In 1844 Charles started at his first school, Richmond Grammar School.  Sure enough the good folk of Wonderland found him with their latest stamp issue!


In 1844 Dodgson produced the first of the family magazines “Useful and Instructive Poetry”.  All the family were supposed to contribute but Charles wrote most of what survives.  There was, of course, a stamp issue.

In 1846 Charles left Richmond and entered Rugby School.  With unerring accuracy the latest Wonderland issue found its way to him.

By 1851 Dodgson was at Christ Church, Oxfordbut he couldn’t avoid the Wonderland Post Office with its first new issue for 5 years.
